Excellent information re the whole sock puppet thing. In the case of the Kimkins sock puppets, the effect on the real members was in too many cases disastrous, both in terms of their physical health as well as their emotional/mental self-image and feelings of self-worth.

Another aspect of Heidi's sadism which bears further exploration and reportage.

Great blog!

Hey Mariasol, you still look great stretched. Those 100-lb weights must have helped.;-)Sock puppets are interesting little critters - they can speak, but have no life of their own. They can lose weight, but are invisible. They are unfailingly positive. Why don't we get a couple as pets, and trot them out for inspections when necessary? Or send them in to do battle when the weight loss is failing?

Interesting commentary about the sock puppets, Mariasol. I guess the practice is a pretty common way to deceive people into thinking a site is legitimate. There is a lot of that going on at Kimkins. Members there talk about how they stay for the friendships they have made there, when some of those friends aren't real people. I know I'd feel very betrayed and angry if I found that out.
OYB
My blog: Kimorexia
